Winterschlafsack für kalte Temperaturen
Der Winterschlafsack von Gipfelsport ist etwas für Kälteempfindliche. Dennoch kommt es auf den Einsatz an. Der Schlafsack garantiert bei einer durchschnittlich frierenden Person einen Komfortbereich von etwa 2 - 12°C.
Doch was heißt das genau? Der TComf (Komfortbereich) liegt bei diesem Modell bei 2°C. Das bedeutet, dass der Wert ein unterer Komfort-Grenzwert bei Standardgebrauch bei einer Norm-Frau ist - sie friert so gerade noch nicht. Je nach körperlicher Verfassung, können diese Werte etwas schwanken. Hier sollte immer ein gewisser Puffer eingeplant werden.
Im Allgemeinen gibt es vier Angaben für die Wärmeleistung eines Schlafsacks:
- Der obere Grenzbereich (Tmax): Dieser Wert gibt an, bei dem ein Norm-Mensch anfängt zu schwitzen. Dieser Wert wird so gut wie nie angegeben, da bei zu warmen Temperaturen, der Schlafsack geöffnet oder beiseite gelegt werden kann.
- Der Komfortbereich (Tcomf): Bei diesem Wert friert die Norm Frau noch so gerade nicht. Die Norm Frau ist 25 Jahre alt, wiegt 60kg und ist 1,6m groß.

Der untere Grenzbereich (Tlim): Bei diesem Wert friert der Norm Mann noch so gerade nicht. Der Norm Mann ist 25 Jahre alt, wiegt 70kg und ist 1,73m groß.
- Der extreme Bereich (Text): Dieser Wert sollte nicht erreicht werden. Hier geht es um das Überleben. Dieser Wert gibt an bei dem die Norm Frau noch überleben kann. Diese Temperaturen lassen sich nicht lange aushalten und es besteht die Gefahr der Unterkühlung.
Tipp beim Winterschlafsack Kauf
Wir empfehlen beim Kauf des Schlafsacks auf den Komfortbereich zu achten, da bei diesen Temperaturen sowohl Mann als auch Frau noch angenehm schlafen kann. Demenstprechend geben wir auch immer diesen Komfortbereich speziell an. Für diesen Winterschlafsack empfehlen wir eine Temperatur von 2 - 12°C. Dieser Bereich schwankt etwas. Je nach Statur, körperlicher Verfassung und Kälteempfinden kann dieser Bereich verschoben und/oder erweitert werden. So kann der Schlafsack auch bei einigen bis zum Gefrierpunkt (bis 0 Grad) noch erholsame Nächte bescheren. Der Schlafsack für den Winter hat eine eng an den Körper liegende Form. Der Mumienschlafsack ist die beliebteste Schlafsackform, da er die Wärme länger speichert als ein Deckenschlafsack. Durch die enge Form, ist auch weniger Material notwendig. Dadurch ist der Mumienschlafsack platzsparender als ein Deckenschlafsack. Der Nachteil eines Mumienschlafsacks ist, dass man in diesem weniger Bewegungsfreiheit hat. Auch kann man diesen nicht mit anderen Schlafsäcken am Reißverschluss kombinieren.

Der Winterschlafsack ist ein wichtiges Accesoire für alle, die im Winter oder sich in kalten Temperaturen aufhalten. Er ist besonders nützlich bei Aktivitäten, die mehrere Tage andauern können, wie Klettern, Wandern, Skifahren und andere Wintersportarten, aber auch für längere Reisen oder Campingausflüge. Der Winterschlafsack ist dafür konzipiert, den Träger bei kalten Temperaturen warm und behaglich zu halten. Dazu verfügt er eine besonders wärmende Füllung, die dafür sorgt, dass die Körperwärem entweichen kann. Sollte es dennoch zu warm im Schlafsack werden, kann durch den 2-Wege-Reißverschluss der Fußbereich geöffnet werden.

Fine for a man (with skinny wrists)

I have an older mens ironman which has gotten a little beat up and needs replacing. The band is much longer than I need. The metal clasp sits off-center on the underside of my wrist, closer to the part of my wrist which curves around to the front. The too-long strap sometimes flops around and catches on things. I couldn't find a smaller-band mens version, so I tried this "womens" watch (picking the most manly-looking one, of course). I like it better. The band fits my wrist much better, with the metal band in the middle and no flop. I also like that the watch is lighter and the face and band are smaller and less bulky, so it is less noticeable when I'm wearing it (cycling weight weenies will appreciate this). The face is still large enough to be easily legible and contains all of the same great features as my mens ironman watch, plus the newer versions now have an hourly chime, nice! Other info: my wrist is ~17.5cm or ~7.0" around. On this watch, I use the 6th out of 9 slots on the band. On my mens ironman, I use the 3rd out of 9 slots. Weight: this one = 28g, mens = 39g.
Pics show comparison of my prior mens ironman with this new "womens" ironman. Photo order is confusing (couldn't figure out how to change that). They are: (1) side-by-side, mens on left, (2) mens band (wider and clasp is off-center on my wrist, end of band hangs over the edge of my wrist -- too long for me -- catches on things), (3) womens band (less wide, clasp is more centered on my wrist and end does hang over edge of my wrist), (3) womens watch (smaller, and looks new), and (5) mens watch, looking a little beat up.

Watch holds up in saltwater!

I bought this watch to use for my trip to the Galapagos Islands. I read two reviews that the watch does not hold up in salt water. I went snorkeling in the ocean 6 times, about 45 minutes each time. The watch did not leak. I did take precautions by keeping the watch under my rash guard and lowering myself slowly into the water. I also rinsed off my watch each time I snorkeled. I also bought this watch for the multi time zone feature by saving the time on the west coast, east coast and Galapagos time since I cannot change the time on my Fitbit until I land in an airport. I did not use any other features of the watch because I generally use my phone or Fitbit for an alarm or timer. The only complaint I have is that Timex now discourages changing the battery by the consumer. I changed the battery myself on my old Ironman watch. The new Ironman watch is fitted with triangular head screws. So I will have to purchase screwdrivers with triangular heads when it comes time to change the battery.

Reliable and durable, even in harsh conditions

This watch has served me very well. From Arctic waters to long distance races, it has held up to everything except one task I asked of it, which was my fault.
This watch can handle repeated free dives to 12 ft deep. It cannot handle scuba diving at the same depth for an hour straight without needing to have the battery shorted to reset it.
It fits well, lights up consistently and brightly enough to read without being blinding, keeps accurate time, and generally does everything I want it to.

Typical Timex

Just love this watch. It’s a little larger dial than the “typical” 38mm,which is what I was looking for. Works perfectly. Keeps decently accurate time, solid built metal case and glass crystal. Leather strap not too stiff so break in is not really a concern. I like Timex best for reliability, features and price. Plus it’s easy to change readily available batteries (which last about 1-2 years). Getting lots of compliments on it. One small oddity, what should be the second hand is actually a tachometer/chronograph function. The second hand is actually a smaller dial near the 6 o’clock position. Seems odd especially if you’ve never owned a hand sweep chronograph watch. Not a big deal just need to retrain your brain for the second hand. Timex has been my go to watch for years now and I’ve never had an issue with them except the occasional band or battery replacement. I wear them to work and am NOT easy on them at all. They just work. In my opinion, they are a great value. Moderate watches typically cost well over $100, Timex’s core watches are about 1/2 that price usually. Although the company has ventured into the upscale watch arena a few years ago and are also value packed and very good looking, some costing as much as $1000! For my daily driver kind of budget, I’ll stick with their core line basic watches thanks

Solid timepiece from Timex

Easy to read, watch face is well laid out and I like the contrast of the numbers against the background. It's been a while since I had a watch with Indiglo so it was nice to see that again. However, with the white hands, it's a little tough to read in the dark when the backlight is on, though it does have glow in the dark hands.
Watch has a heavy, quality feel to it. Well constructed, like it may take a knock or two. Much beefier than any of the previous Timex watches I've owned. I was concerned about the crown size and it hitting the back of my hand in certain positions but it seems to be fine. I feel it but it's not nearly as prominent as I thought.
If you have bad eyes like me, it may be tough to read without glasses on.
The band fits well after oiling the leather --- cuts down drastically on break-in time. It always seems like I'm right in between two of the settings so oiling will help the band stretch a little in the tighter position. The color is pretty light fresh out of the box and the thread contrast is pretty retro. I found that oiling it also helped sort of detune that a little bit. I'm always one of those types that has to mod something the second I take it out of the box or it just isn't going to work. Oiling the leather band was the trick. I was on the fence and considering ordering a different one until I took a few minutes and hand rubbed some leather oil in to get it much darker and more pliable. Super comfortable. And thick, too. Seems like it will hold on for a few years.
I bought a "used" one for a slightly discounted price -- in this economy, ffs!? Arrived just fine, intact, no signs of having been worn, just out of its original box and returned. Arrived in a factory box on factory wrist holder for the band, instructions were included, and arrived with a fresh battery installed -- just need to remove the tab to engage time and start the watch.
Also, register the lifetime warranty. You'll likely never need to anything other than change the battery but if you ever do, they'll fix it for free. Also, I am not affiliated with Timex in any way. I'm just hopped up on the watch I just got and feel like writing a nice review about it.
Highly recommended watch and happy to replace that $60 smartwatch. I was ready to get back to a real time piece.
